Wildberries Offers Subsidies to Boost Pickup Point Expansion in Uzbekistan

Starting from March 11, Wildberries, the online marketplace, has initiated a support program by providing subsidies for the establishment of new order pick-up points (POPs) in Uzbekistan. According to the marketplace's press service, a one-time payment of 28.3 million soums is now available for new outlet openings.

This move is part of a broader strategy to encourage entrepreneurship and expand Wildberries’ presence in Uzbekistan. Unlike the previous tariff structure, this subsidy system presents an attractive opportunity for prospective business owners.

Similar support schemes are already in place for entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan, offering 204.52 thousand soms (equivalent to $2.28 thousand) for setting up a new pickup point.

Wildberries’ investments in Uzbekistan have been substantial, amounting to $412.5 million as of November 2023. These investments have contributed significantly to job creation, with 22.5 thousand new positions generated. Looking ahead, plans include expanding warehouse facilities in Tashkent, Fergana, and Namangan regions to 350 thousand square meters, along with an increase in the number of sellers on the electronic platform to 15 thousand. This underscores Wildberries’ commitment to further development and investment in the region.
