According to Bassport.kz, Khusanov has remained on the bench for three consecutive matches. His last appearance came on March 30 against Bournemouth, where he played just 46 minutes. Since then, City have faced Leicester, Manchester United, and Crystal Palace. Notably, despite trailing 0–2 in the April 12 clash, City staged a comeback to secure a confident 5–2 win.
Football analysts believe head coach Pep Guardiola is now prioritizing players who are more in sync with his tactical philosophy as he looks to boost the team’s performance. Meanwhile, Khusanov is reportedly still adjusting to his new environment.
“Khusanov was included in the starting lineup immediately after arriving in England, but that was more due to a shortage of players at the time than earned trust,” experts noted.
Nevertheless, sources suggest Guardiola intends to give the young Uzbek defender another opportunity during the club’s pre-season training this summer.
