Visa-Free Travel Between Kazakhstan and China Commences

Starting from Today, November 10, 2023, the agreement on mutual visa exemption between the Governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China is officially in effect, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

The agreement, outlined in Article 1, allows citizens of both countries to enjoy visa-free travel for purposes such as private affairs, tourism, medical treatment, international transport, transit, and business. The stipulation indicates that the duration of stay for citizens within each other’s borders should not exceed 30 calendar days from the initial border crossing, totaling 90 calendar days within 180 calendar days.

For stays exceeding 30 days, individuals are required to obtain an entry visa of the appropriate category in advance. Notably, the visa-free arrangement does not grant rights for employment, educational pursuits, or missionary activities.

It’s important to note that the agreement excludes visits to the special administrative regions of the People’s Republic of China, namely Hong Kong and Macau. While Kazakhstani citizens can enter Hong Kong without a visa for up to 14 days, a visa is necessary for visits to Macau.

Kazakhstan now boasts visa-free access to 34 countries, offering enhanced travel opportunities for its citizens. For the complete list of these countries, refer to the provided link.
