VIII Turkic World Women and Fashion Days Held in Aktau
The VIII Turkic World Women and Fashion Days festival took place in Aktau, the 2025 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, on June 28–29. Organized by TURKSOY and supported by the Mangystau regional government and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the event celebrated traditional crafts and ethnic fashion.

Designers and artisans from across the Turkic world — including Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Mongolia, and North Macedonia — gathered for exhibitions, masterclasses, and fashion shows.
The highlight was a catwalk at Aktau Amphitheater, where designers showcased garments blending traditional motifs with modern lines. Turkish designer Gözde İşbilir and a student team from İzmir Institute of Technology earned particular acclaim.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev opened the event by emphasizing women’s role in cultural continuity: “Women are the bearers of Turkic civilization. Every handcrafted motif is not just decoration but a reflection of our identity and history.”
A 12-meter traditional felt carpet, specially crafted for the festival, will remain on display in Aktau for the rest of the year.
