Uzbekistan’s Economy Grows by 7.2% in First Half of 2025

Uzbekistan recorded a 7.2% GDP growth from January to June 2025, up from 6.1% during the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Construction led the way with a 10.7% increase, while agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and passenger transport projects also contributed to the positive momentum.

Inflation eased to 4.2%, down from 5.2% a year earlier. However, household income growth slowed from 11.9% to 9.5%.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan strengthened its business presence in Uzbekistan, opening 116 new companies in the first half of the year. The total number of Kazakh-capital enterprises in the country has reached 1,157.
