UzAuto Motors in Uzbekistan managed to completely fulfill the annual quota for popular car models, including Chevrolet Cobalt, Damas, and Labo, within a mere two days. The sold-out models are slated for production in 2024, exclusively for the domestic market of Uzbekistan, TuraNews.kz reports.
UzAuto Motors disclosed that on December 25 and 26, a staggering 171.2 thousand contracts for the delivery of cars in the upcoming year were swiftly finalized with eager buyers. The transactions were conducted through the UzAutoSavdo application and the zavda.uzavtosanoat.uz website, facilitating an efficient online purchasing process.
Despite the success, the company faced intermittent technical challenges arising from cyberattacks during the online sales period.
“UzAutoSavdo online trading system experienced 7,000 cyberattacks. Throughout this time, the system recorded over 3 million active sessions. Concurrently, the company’s call center handled more than 3,000 calls,” reported UzAuto Motors.
In an effort to combat “dealers” and ensure fair opportunities for all consumers, the Uzbekistan government recently implemented changes to the rules governing the sale of new cars. Under the new regulations, clients who have entered into more than two sales contracts within a 12-month period will be denied the opportunity to secure a new contract for car delivery, fostering a more equitable distribution system.
