“From January 1, 2023, as an experiment, a Tax Free system is introduced to refund to foreign citizens the amounts of VAT paid by them when purchasing certain types of goods from entrepreneurs engaged in retail trade in Uzbekistan”, – the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

The total amount of the purchase of goods must be at least 1 million soums.

It will be possible to return the tax within three months from the date of purchase when leaving the country, and the total amount of the purchase must be at least 1 million soums (about 90 USD). To do this, it will be enough to register in the Soliq mobile application and scan the checks of the online cash register (cash register) with a fiscal sign for the purchases made in it.
