Uzbekistan Triumphs Over Kyrgyzstan in Thrilling 2026 World Cup Qualifier

In an intense second-round match of the third stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Uzbekistan secured a dramatic 3:2 victory over Kyrgyzstan. The match, held at the Dolon Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek, saw Uzbekistan come from behind twice to claim the win.

Kyrgyzstan took an early lead with Joel Kodjoe scoring in the 15th minute, but Uzbekistan quickly responded with an equalizer from Eldor Shomurodov just two minutes later. Kyrgyzstan regained the lead in the 35th minute with a goal by Odiljon Abdurakhmanov. However, Uzbekistan’s Khusniddin Alikulov leveled the score just before halftime, and Oston Urunov sealed the victory in the 72nd minute.

With this win, Uzbekistan now leads Group A with 6 points. The group also includes teams from Iran, Qatar, the UAE, and North Korea, all competing for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
