Uzbekistan to Modernize Locomotive Fleet with Chinese Supply Deal
Uzbekistan is set to modernize its locomotive fleet through a new contract with the Chinese company CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive.
According to “Uzbekistan Railways,” the agreement involves the modernization of 12 electric locomotives from the “Uzbekistan” series currently in use. Additionally, the Chinese company will supply 38 new locomotives, including freight and passenger electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, and shunting locomotives. The supply will be provided on an installment plan, with deliveries expected to continue until 2034 .
