According to the ministry, the recent cold air masses entering the country have led to a significant increase in the demand for energy resources. The daily demand for natural gas has risen by 20% compared to last week, while the demand for electricity has increased by 15%.
As a result, the country’s gas transportation system is operating at full capacity. Despite the planned daily production and supply targets from underground gas storage facilities, there has been a noticeable drop in the pressure within the pipelines.
“Our main task is to ensure the uninterrupted supply of natural gas to households and social sector facilities (such as hospitals, schools, kindergartens, universities, etc.),” the statement said. “Therefore, in collaboration with local authorities, a temporary restriction on the operation of gas filling compressor stations in certain regions is planned,” the message added.
Additionally, regional and district authorities will regularly provide official updates through information channels.
