Uzbekistan to Expand Cargo Transport to EU via Bulgaria Along Middle Corridor
Uzbekistan is set to boost cargo transportation to EU countries through Bulgaria using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. This development was highlighted during a meeting of the joint Uzbek-Bulgarian commission on international road transport at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport.
The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in international freight transport by road and improving conditions for national carriers. As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to exchange additional permit forms for 2024 and committed to a 15-fold increase in permits for 2025.
Additionally, Uzbekistan has made strides in diversifying transport routes to the EU, reaching an agreement with Romania to introduce a permit-free system for bilateral and transit cargo transportation starting from April 1, 2024.
