Uzbekistan sends 170 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

On December 22, Uzbekistan delivered a humanitarian aid with a total weight of more than 170 tons consists of flour, rice, wheat, vegetable oil, canned food, clothes and shoes to the Afghan city of Hairatan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.

Governor of Balkh province Muhammad Daoud Mozamel expressed deep and sincere gratitude to the Republic of Uzbekistan for being in solidarity with the Afghan people at this difficult time for Afghanistan.

The parties have agreed to resume the work of the Joint Working Group on Border Issues at the level of the heads of the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan and Balkh province with its next meeting in the near future in Termez. It was stated that this will contribute not only to the development of border trade, but also to the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries.
