Uzbekistan has witnessed a notable 4.4% increase in its birth rate compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, TuraNews.kz reports.
The agency disclosed that the total number of newborns reached 887,424 individuals during the 11 months of 2023. This figure represents a 4.4% uptick from the corresponding period in the previous year. The gender breakdown of the newborns revealed that 459,701 were boys, while 427,723 were girls.
Highlighting the gender distribution, the agency pointed out that there were 31,978 more boys born than girls during this period. The rise in the birth rate is seen as a positive demographic trend for Uzbekistan, signifying potential implications for the country’s population structure and future development.
