Uzbekistan is ready to import 500 thousand tons of potatoes from Kyrgyzstan annually.

This was stated today by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, during a republican meeting with the heads of regional state administrations and local governments

According to Zhaparov, Uzbek specialists are ready to assist domestic farmers in the development of lands not covered by the irrigation system by introducing a drip irrigation system. Such support will help increase potato harvests in Kyrgyzstan.

The head of the Cabinet noted that this issue will be discussed as part of the upcoming state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan.
