Uzbekistan Implements Fines for Fake Teachers and Lecturers

Uzbek senators have approved a new law aimed at combating fake teachers and lecturers.

According to the press service of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, there has been an increase in individuals promoting harmful ideas through educational activities, negatively impacting the youth’s consciousness and culture. This situation necessitates legislative improvements.

As a result, the “On Education” law will be amended, and penalties will be outlined in the Administrative Code.

Specifically, if someone without the right to conduct educational activities continues to do so in violation of the law, they will face fines ranging from 5 to 10 basic calculation amounts (approximately 64,000 to 129,000 tenge).

Officials engaging in similar actions will incur fines between 10 to 15 basic calculation amounts (around 129,000 to 193,000 tenge).

If an administrative penalty is applied and the offense is repeated, individuals may be fined up to 10-15 basic calculation amounts, while officials could face fines of 15-20 basic calculation amounts.
