Uzbekistan Greets Paris Olympic Champions with Enthusiastic Welcome
On August 13, Uzbek athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics returned home to a warm and enthusiastic reception in Tashkent. The people of Uzbekistan celebrated their Olympic champions with great pride.
In a show of national pride, the victorious athletes paraded through the streets of Tashkent on double-decker buses, reminiscent of football club celebrations. Citizens lined the streets, waving national flags to honor the athletes’ achievements.
During the welcoming ceremony, Senate Chairman Tanzila Narbaeva praised the athletes, stating that their success at the Summer Olympics in Paris demonstrated Uzbekistan’s progress toward becoming a powerful nation.
Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, also extended his congratulations, commending the athletes for their outstanding performance and for bringing home 13 medals from the Olympic Games.
Uzbekistan’s impressive haul from the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics includes 8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, a total of 13 medals that have made the nation proud.
