Uzbekistan Extends Service Terms for Special Ranks

Uzbekistan has extended the terms of service for special ranks across several state agencies, including the Internal Affairs Directorate, Customs, National Guard, and military servicre.

The new regulations increase the service period required to achieve certain ranks:

  • Internal Affairs Directorate:
    • Senior Lieutenant: 3 years (previously 2 years)
    • Captain: 4 years (previously 3 years)
    • Major: 5 years (previously 4 years)
    • Lieutenant Colonel: 6 years (previously 5 years)
  • State Customs Service:
    • Senior Lieutenant: 3 years (previously 2 years)
    • Captain: 4 years (previously 3 years)
    • Major: 5 years (previously 4 years)
    • Lieutenant Colonel: 6 years (previously 5 years)
  • Military Service:
    • Senior Lieutenant: 3 years (previously 2 years)
    • Captain: 4 years (previously 3 years)
    • Major: 5 years (previously 4 years)
    • Lieutenant Colonel: 6 years (previously 5 years)
  • National Guard:
    • Senior Lieutenant: 3 years (previously 2 years)
    • Captain: 4 years (previously 3 years)
    • Major: 5 years (previously 4 years)
    • Lieutenant Colonel: 6 years (previously 5 years)

These changes reflect the government’s adjustments to the promotion timelines within these sectors.
