Uzbekistan Celebrates Friendship of Peoples Day

On July 30, Uzbekistan will celebrate its annual Friendship of Peoples Day, a holiday dedicated to promoting unity and harmony among the country's diverse population. A series of cultural, educational, scientific, and practical events are planned across Uzbekistan from July 29 to August 4 to commemorate the occasion.

Festive and concert programs will take place in all regions, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan. These celebrations will feature representatives from various nationalities, who will participate in concerts held on the main squares and streets of cities, showcasing the country’s rich cultural diversity.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan extended his congratulations to the citizens of Uzbekistan on Friendship of Peoples Day. He highlighted that the country is home to over 130 nations and nationalities and 16 different religious confessions. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that strengthening interethnic harmony is a top priority for society.

“I am convinced that the friendship festivals held throughout the week across the republic will further strengthen the cohesion and unity of our people,” said President Mirziyoyev. “These celebrations will contribute to peace, tranquility, interethnic harmony, and religious tolerance throughout the region.”
