Uzbekistan began to import additional volumes of electricity from Tajikistan to provide electricity to the Surkhandarya region which suffers from conditions of unusual cold weather, , the press service of the Surkhandarya branch of the Regional Electric Networks enterprise reports.
According to statement, on January 18 of this year, 70% of the region’s Shurchi, Altinsay, Kumkurgan, Jarkurgan districts, 90% of Bandikhan, Kizirik, Sherabad districts, and all the consumers in Baysun, Sariasiya, Uzun, Denau districts received 220kV L-electricity from the Regar-500 substation of Tajikistan. Regar-Zarchop and L-Regar-Sherabad are supplied with electricity through power transmission networks.
