Uzbekistan and UK Conclude Bilateral WTO Accession Talks

Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom have concluded bilateral negotiations as part of Tashkent’s bid to join the World Trade Organization (WTO).

According to Azizbek Urunov, the Uzbek president’s special envoy on WTO affairs, the talks took place in London at the end of May and were deemed successful. A formal protocol is expected to be signed during the 10th WTO Working Party meeting scheduled for June 12 in Geneva.

To date, Uzbekistan has held negotiations with over 30 countries and has reached agreements with 24 of them. Talks with the remaining WTO member states are expected to wrap up soon.

Uzbekistan aims to complete its WTO accession process by the end of 2025.
