Uzbekistan and Türkiye to Launch Joint Seed Production Testing Center

Uzbekistan and Türkiye are moving forward with plans to establish a new "Uzbek-Turkish Seed Production Testing Center," according to recent discussions between high-level officials from both countries.

The delegation from Türkiye, led by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, and National Intelligence Service Director Ibrahim Kalin, met with Uzbek authorities to advance the project. During their visit, the Turkish officials reviewed the operations of Uzbekistan’s “Ozagroinspektsiya” and the Center for Quality Assessment of Agricultural Products.

The proposed testing center aims to adhere to ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) standards, which will facilitate the certification of vegetable and fodder crop seeds in line with international requirements. This initiative is part of the agreements reached during the recent meeting of the leaders of the two nations.

Both parties discussed the center’s development plan and agreed to expedite its establishment, highlighting the importance of enhancing agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
