Uzbekistan and Tajikistan aim to boost trade to $2 billion

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have plans to increase their trade to $2 billion.

In a statement, it was revealed that Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Tajikistan on Thursday at the invitation of President Emomali Rahmon.

“The expansion of mutual supplies and the swift establishment of cross-border trade zones will drive the growth in trade turnover,” the statement said.

Furthermore, the two nations signed an Agreement on Allied Relations following high-level talks.

“The signing of the historic Treaty on Allied Relations signifies a shift to a new phase in Uzbek-Tajik relations,” the statement emphasized.
