The Russian side proposed organizing joint scientific research focused on developing fundamental strategies for the medium and long-term adaptation of the Uzbek economy to changing water and climate conditions. The development of practical recommendations will not only strengthen the capacity of Uzbekistan’s economic and political analysis centers in addressing water and climate issues but also mark an important step in developing scientific cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister emphasized that this project could serve as a major platform for research collaboration, as well as knowledge and technology exchange in the Central Asian region. In this regard, attention was also paid to the creation of a working group and the organization of an educational trip to the Central Asian University for the Study of Environmental and Climate Change (“Green University”) for interaction with experts in the field of water resources management.

Based on the research results, it is planned to develop a “Strategy for Adapting the Economy of Uzbekistan to Changing Water and Climate Conditions by 2050.” The parties also agreed to expand cooperation, including the implementation of joint scientific projects and regular consultations within the framework of the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” in 2025, to achieve mutually beneficial results.
