
As part of the visit, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Committee, Abduvaqqos Rafiqov, and the Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor), Alexander Trembitsky.
During the discussions, both sides exchanged experiences on the roles and responsibilities of regulatory bodies in industry, radiation, and nuclear safety, while also exploring further areas for cooperation.
According to the Committee’s press service, the Uzbek delegation will visit several organizations during the working trip and take part in a technical tour of the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant.
This cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia is being carried out within the framework of an agreement aimed at regulating nuclear and radiation safety for the peaceful use of atomic energy.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to develop a Joint Action Plan for 2025-2026.
