Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Trade Relations, Focus on Seasonal Produce Export

Trade and economic relations between the regions of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan's Almaty region are set to strengthen further.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, Bakhtiyor Ibrahimov, met with the Governor of Almaty region, Marat Sultangaziyev, TuraNews.kz reports citing UzA.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in agriculture, industry, tourism, trade, and cultural and humanitarian relations.

“The parties noted the steady development of trade and economic partnerships between the regions of the two countries. In the first eight months of this year, the trade turnover between Almaty region and Uzbekistan reached 171 million USD,” the statement said.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on the supply of seasonal vegetables and fruits, joint production of dairy products and packaging materials, and participation of the Almaty region delegation in the “Kashkadarya Invest – 2024” business forum in Kashkadarya region.
