President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan wants to increase production from 6.5 million tons last year to 8 million tons this year and eventually to 10 million tons by 2025.
This increase follows a directive to boost coal output by 22%, taking into account the needs of various sectors and the population. With coal being an essential energy source for specific industries, Uzbekistan aims to tap into its substantial coal reserves, estimated at nearly 2 billion tons.
