Uzbek Nationals Initially Set for Deportation from the U.S. to Costa Rica Return Home

Seven Uzbek citizens, who were initially scheduled for deportation from the United States to Costa Rica, have returned to Tashkent.

According to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an agreement was reached between Uzbek and U.S. diplomats to facilitate their return home.

— As a result of negotiations with the U.S. side, seven Uzbek citizens returned to Uzbekistan on February 24 via a New York-Tashkent flight. Initially, they were set to be deported to Costa Rica and placed in a temporary holding center, — stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press service.

Previously, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued a statement regarding the deportation of migrants from the U.S. to Costa Rica. The ministry’s spokesperson, Akhror Burkhanov, assured that all Uzbek citizens would receive the necessary assistance.
