Uzbek Judoka Diera Keldierova Wins Olympic Gold

Uzbekistan has claimed its first medal at the Paris Olympics, thanks to a stunning victory by judoka Diera Keldierova.

Competing in the 52 kg category, Keldierova made headlines by defeating renowned Japanese judoka Uta Abe, and ultimately secured the gold medal after beating Kosovar athlete Distria Krasniqi in the final match.

This victory marks the first Olympic gold in judo for Uzbekistan and the first gold medal for the Uzbek team at this year’s Olympic Games.

Keldierova’s journey to the top was impressive. She defeated Japan’s Uta Abe in her opening match and went on to overcome Germany’s Masha Ballhaus and France’s Amandine Buchard before reaching the final.

With this achievement, the Uzbek national team has climbed to ninth place in the overall medal standings, with their single gold medal. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan holds the seventh position, having secured one gold and two bronze medals.
