UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay visit the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay visited the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Turanews.kz reports.

The Director General of UNESCO arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in the Astana International Forum.

As part of the trip, Audrey Azoulay visited the Spiritual Capital city of the Kazakhstan, where she examined the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the first of Kazakhstani sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

During the inspection, the state adviser, chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO Yerlan Karin told the head of the international organization about the ongoing work to ensure the safety of the mausoleum. Audrey Azoulay with great attention got acquainted with the information on the measures taken by the Kazakh side to preserve the historical and cultural heritage.
