“More than half of Gaza’s population, totaling 1.1 million people, have depleted their food supplies, putting them at severe risk of famine. Reports indicate that Palestinians in Gaza are enduring profound anguish and hardship,” stated Guterres.
Highlighting the preventable nature of the crisis, Guterres called upon the Israeli authorities to ensure unimpeded access for humanitarian aid into Gaza. He further urged the international community to rally behind humanitarian efforts in the region.
