TURKPA Voices Support for Kazakhstan’s Constitutional Reforms

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) has expressed support for the constitutional reforms currently underway in Kazakhstan.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, at the Kazakh Embassy in Baku. Ambassador Bayel emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to TURKPA’s activities and intends to continue providing comprehensive support to the organization.

Bayel congratulated Hasan on his appointment and expressed confidence that TURKPA’s institutional principles would be further strengthened under his leadership. He also briefed the Secretary General on the constitutional reform agenda being prepared in Kazakhstan.

In response, Hasan welcomed the reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with particular emphasis on changes aimed at modernizing and strengthening the parliamentary system. He thanked Kazakhstan for its active role as one of TURKPA’s founding members and noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation within the Turkic world would gain renewed momentum.

Following the meeting, TURKPA issued an official statement praising the constitutional initiatives, describing them as an important step toward reinforcing state institutions, improving governance efficiency and developing representative bodies. The Assembly also highlighted Kazakhstan’s balanced domestic and foreign policy approach and its strategic role in the Turkic world, reaffirming its readiness to deepen cooperation and exchange experience for sustainable development.
