Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov has announced the creation of a club of the organization “Akhal-Teke Horses – Ambassadors of Peace”. The club will be located in the International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annaev in the city of Arkadag, Turanews.kz reports.
The club was created as part of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with UNESCO to include the nomination “Ahal-Teke horse breeding and traditions of decorating horses” in the World List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The club will promote the Akhal-Teke horse as a symbol of peace and friendship, and will also work to preserve the traditional horse breeding and decorating practices of Turkmenistan.
The meeting of the National Commission for UNESCO also discussed the work plan for joining the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan to the UNESCO Global Youth Community. The Magtymguly Youth Organization is a youth organization that promotes the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.
The creation of the club of “Akhal-Teke Horses – Ambassadors of Peace” is a significant step in Turkmenistan’s efforts to promote the Akhal-Teke horse and its traditional horse breeding and decorating practices.
