Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the newly appointed Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze, on Monday at the Serdar Hotel in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, Turanews.kz reports.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations in the areas of preventive diplomacy, conflict resolution, and regional development. They also exchanged views on the current situation in Central Asia and the world.
President Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan is committed to strengthening its partnership with the United Nations and that it sees the UN as an important partner in promoting peace, security, and development in the region. He also expressed confidence that the UNRCCA will continue to play a constructive role in promoting regional cooperation and stability.
For his part, Imnadze conveyed the warm greetings of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to President Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan. He also expressed his appreciation for Turkmenistan’s support for the work of the UNRCCA.
The two sides agreed to continue close cooperation in the coming years and to work together to address the challenges facing Central Asia.
