Turkmenistan is proposing to convene a gathering of the foreign ministers from the Caspian states, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, on its territory in 2024. The announcement was made by the country’s head of the foreign policy department, Rashid Meredov, TuraNews.kz reports.
Highlighting the importance of regular meetings, Meredov expressed the view that such gatherings should occur annually in a rotating fashion among the cities of the Caspian countries. Concluding his remarks at a meeting of foreign ministers, he suggested hosting the next meeting in Turkmenistan next year.
It’s worth noting that the current year’s ministerial meeting took place in Moscow. This proposal from Turkmenistan aligns with the ongoing efforts to foster diplomatic collaboration among the Caspian nations.
