Mukhammetmyrat Amanov, the General Director of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, has announced the completion of Turkmenistan’s segment of the TAPI (Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India) pipeline.
Amanov further revealed that agreements have been finalized with the Afghan authorities regarding the security arrangements for the forthcoming gas pipeline and the acquisition of land parcels for pipeline installation. Additionally, Pakistan aims to incorporate TAPI into the Foreign Investment Protection Act to attract international financiers.
The next phase entails constructing the pipeline segment from the Turkmenistan border to the Afghan city of Herat, paving the way for gas supplies to Afghanistan.
By establishing this gas pipeline, Turkmenistan seeks to diversify its export options and lessen its reliance on China, which currently stands as its primary gas buyer.
