Turkmenistan Celebrates Independence Day

Turkmenistan celebrated its 32nd Independence Day on September 27, 2023, with a festive parade and other events in the capital city of Ashgabat, Turanews.kz reports.

The day began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan, attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, government officials, and foreign guests. Berdimuhamedov also issued a congratulatory message to the Turkmen people, expressing his pride in the country’s accomplishments and calling for unity and cohesion.

In his message, Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan has made significant progress since independence, becoming a recognized and respected member of the international community. He also highlighted the country’s economic growth, social development, and commitment to neutrality and peace.

Turkmenistan’s Independence Day was also marked by congratulatory messages from foreign leaders, including President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Chairman Xi Jinping of China, and President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

The festive parade in Ashgabat featured military personnel, marching bands, and floats showcasing Turkmenistan’s rich culture and heritage. The parade was followed by a concert and other cultural events.
