According to Anadolu Agency, The plan, presented by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov during a government meeting, comprises five sections outlining a comprehensive set of targeted measures to combat human trafficking. It includes clear timelines, performance indicators, and designated responsible state agencies. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing international cooperation in this critical area.
A significant step in strengthening efforts against human trafficking was the establishment of an Interagency Commission in 2024, which played a key role in developing the plan. The document was prepared in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
This initiative follows the successful implementation of similar national plans in 2016–2018 and 2020–2022.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that combating human trafficking remains a pressing global challenge requiring coordinated action with the international community.
