The decision marks a significant development in diplomatic relations, setting the stage for the next crucial step in the process.

The upcoming phase involves a vote by the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament on Sweden’s NATO membership bid.

According to Reuters, the necessary legislation has already been submitted for deliberation. However, Fuat Oktay, the head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Turkish Parliament, cautioned against anticipating a swift decision. Speaking to reporters, Oktay clarified that the timeline for the General Assembly’s vote would be determined by the Speaker of the General Assembly, emphasizing the need for a measured approach to the deliberation process.
