Türkiye’s energy imports in monetary terms decreased by 46.4% in June 2023 compared to the same month last year, to $4.3 billion. This is according to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Ministry of Commerce, Turanews.kz reports.
Total imports to Türkiye in June 2023 decreased by 17.5% year-on-year, to $26.6 billion. Of these, $4.3 billion accounted for the import of energy products, which include mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation, bituminous substances, and mineral wax.
In June 2022, energy imports to Türkiye amounted to $8.8 billion. Thus, energy imports decreased by 46.4% compared to last year.
Crude oil imports in June 2023 decreased by 5.4% to 2.996 million tons.
