The Turkish women’s volleyball team has won the 2023 Volleyball Nations League, defeating China in the final match 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16), Turanews.kz reports.
The match was held in Arlington, Texas, and was a close contest throughout. Türkiye took the first set 25-22, but China responded to win the second set 25-22. The third set was also closely contested, but Turkish team eventually prevailed 25-19. The fourth set was a one-sided affair, with Türkiye winning 25-16 to claim the title.
This is the first time that Türkiye has won the Volleyball Nations League. They previously finished second in 2018 and third in 2021. China finished as the runners-up, while Poland won the bronze medal.
