Türkiye to Face Austria in UEFA Euro 2024

The Turkish national team is set to play against Austria tonight at 00:00 at the Red Bull Arena - Zentralstadion in Leipzig.

On July 2, the last two matches of the 1/8 finals of the 2024 European Football Championship will take place.

Austria, after a narrow loss to France, bounced back with victories against Poland and the Netherlands, securing first place in Group D. Defender Alexander Prass stated, “We believe that we are capable of anything. Few people believed that we would take first place in the group, but deep down we believed.”

Türkiye, led by Vincenzo Montella, aims to halt Austria’s progress. After successful matches against Georgia and the Czech Republic, Türkiye clinched a victory in their last match with a stoppage-time goal from Cenk Tosun. Tosun commented, “We suffered a heavy defeat to Austria in a friendly in March. This time we want to win. We always played with the dream of repeating the success of 2008.”
