Türkiye to Boost Renewable Energy Investments with ‘Super Permits’

Türkiye is set to implement a ‘super permit’ mechanism designed to enhance investments in renewable energy.

This new phase in the country’s renewable energy development aims to expedite the process of coordinating and issuing permits for the construction of solar and wind power facilities.

The ‘Super Permit’ system is part of Türkiye’s strategy to achieve energy independence. By streamlining bureaucratic processes, the Turkish government aims to attract new investments and accelerate the shift towards sustainable energy sources.

Alparslan Bayraktar, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, stated that the introduction of the ‘Super Permit’ system will enable Turkey to meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement and help lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Türkiye is actively advancing its solar and wind energy infrastructure and plans to significantly increase the proportion of these renewable sources in its energy mix in the coming years.

In related news, Türkiye has also been reported to be exploring oil and gas opportunities in Africa.
