On Friday, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced the plans during a ceremony welcoming the Oruç Reis in Mogadishu, according to Anadolu Agency.
An agreement for this exploration was signed between the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and the Somali Petroleum Authority, allowing for onshore hydrocarbon exploration.
Minister Bayraktar highlighted that Türkiye and Somalia continue to deepen their cooperation in offshore areas as well.
