Türkiye Signs Record-Breaking $30 Billion Aviation Deal with Airbus

In a landmark agreement for Türkiye's aviation sector, Turkish Airlines has signed a contract to purchase 220 Airbus aircraft, valued at $30 billion. This deal represents the largest order in the history of the national carrier and is a significant boost for the country's aviation industry.

The contract was finalized during a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on October 19 in Istanbul.

The two leaders discussed a broad range of topics, including regional issues and strengthening bilateral relations, with the aviation deal emerging as a key outcome of the talks.

The agreement involves the acquisition of 220 modern airliners from Airbus, marking a substantial investment in expanding and modernizing Turkish Airlines’ fleet.
