About 15,1 billion liras ($6,1 billion) were collected at last night’s fundraiser organized in Türkiye, which was broadcast on 213 domestic and international television stations and 562 radio stations.
Within the framework of the “Turkey one heart” campaign, more than nine million SMS messages were sent with who are they donate funds to those affected by the earthquake in Türkiye.
Among the donors were Turkish politicians, state institutions and citizens, Anatolia reported. The Turkish Central Bank was the largest donor, pledging $1,6 billion, while Ziraat and Vakif banks donated $1 million.
