According to Ibrahim Afyon, chairman of the Turkish Egg Producers Union, exports began in February this year and will continue until July. A total of 700 containers of eggs will be shipped, and this measure will be carried out through the relevant licensed companies that are members of the union.
Türkiye is one of the largest egg exporters in the world. Under the agreement, Türkiye plans to generate approximately $26 million in revenue.
The outbreak of avian flu in the US has exacerbated the egg shortage in the country and led to a 36.8% increase in prices. In this regard, the US authorities are taking temporary import measures. The US Department of Agriculture has not commented on the issue.
