Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of natural resources, including wind and solar energy. The agreement was signed by the Turkish Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, and the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar ibn Ibrahim al-Huraif, Turanews.kz reports.
The agreement aims to promote joint investment and collaboration in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy sources. It also includes provisions for the exchange of technical expertise and information.
Bayraktar said that the agreement was signed in light of the agreements reached during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s tour of the Persian Gulf countries in July. He said that the republic has signed agreements worth $50 billion with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, of which $29 billion is in the energy sector.
“We look forward to new agreements in the field of renewable energy sources. Specific information on investments will appear in the coming days.” Bayraktar said.
