Türkiye and Georgia Sign Energy Cooperation Memorandum

Türkiye and Georgia have strengthened their energy ties with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the energy sector.

The MoU, signed after bilateral negotiations and discussions within delegations, was formalized in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The signing took place during President Erdogan’s meeting with Prime Minister Kobakhidze at the presidential complex. Following bilateral and delegation talks, the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Energy” was signed between Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Representing Türkiye, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar inked the memorandum, while Georgia was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili.
