Türkiye and Azerbaijan Strengthen Cooperation in Education

Türkiye has provided a building in Istanbul for a future educational institution, where renovation works are currently underway. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev announced this during the opening ceremony of the new building of the Baku Turkish Lyceum.
According to the minister, the school will use both Turkish and Azerbaijani educational materials and serve as an important platform for Azerbaijani children to study in their native language and national spirit. This step, he noted, will further strengthen educational cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The initiative received additional support during a recent bilateral meeting in Khankendi, attended by Minister Amrullayev, Türkiye’s Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Azerbaijan’s Presidential Special Representative’s Deputy Sabuhi Gahramanov, and Rector of Karabakh University Shahin Bayramov.
The parties discussed current projects, highlighted the importance of expanding educational ties, and signed an Additional Protocol to the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in education.
In August, the Karabakh University in Khankendi hosted the opening of the VII Turkology Summer School of Turkic States. Earlier, Baku held an educational fair with the participation of more than 20 universities from Kazakhstan.
