Turkish Companies Among Top Investors in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nazira Nurbayeva, held talks with 35 major Turkish companies to explore investment opportunities in key sectors of Kazakhstan's economy. The negotiations were supported by the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul and Kazakh Invest NC JSC.
During the bilateral meetings, Nurbayeva discussed the current status and challenges of various projects in Kazakhstan with Turkish investors.
She emphasized the importance of investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, noting that attracting investment is a top priority for the Kazakh government. Turkish investments, focused on the manufacturing industry, play a crucial role in diversifying Kazakhstan’s economy.
Turkish investors praised Kazakhstan’s investment potential and the government’s specific measures to attract investments. They expressed their intent to invest in various sectors, including the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, building materials, metallurgy, chemistry, agrochemistry, agriculture, and light industry.
Notable projects discussed include:
- Iskefe Holding: Establishing the first halal gelatin production in Central Asia in Almaty.
- Alarko Holding: Building greenhouses covering 120 hectares in Shymkent.
- Koyuncu Group: Producing import-substituting sodium pyrosulfite in the Zhambyl region.
- LC Waikiki: Constructing the first foreign distribution logistics center in the Almaty region.
- Gurmak Demiryolu: Manufacturing railway rail fastening systems in the Almaty region.
- Esan (Eczacıbaşı Holding): Investing in geological exploration in the Aktobe region.
- Betek Boya: Producing paints and varnishes.
